The Commonwealth Resounds!

An exciting multicultural musical project called The Commonwealth Resounds! will be run in association with the Commonwealth People’s Forum for the forthcoming CHOGM-related events in Kampala this coming November.

A team of volunteers ran the inauguaral performances and workshops from The Commonwealth Resounds! in Malta in 2005, and were able to persuade governments to send some brilliant musicians, including the Defence Force Steel orchestra from Trinidad and Tobago, the Ngati Ranana Maori group and the Cyprus State Orchestra.

The whole project proved to be highly worthwhile and successful and as a result of this, the team has been working with the Commonwealth Foundation, the Commonwealth Secretariat, the  Royal Commonwealth Society, the Royal Overseas League, the International Federation of Musicians, Uganda Music Week and an increasing number of other distinguished partners, developing ideas for supporting musicians of all ages and abilities throughout the Commonwealth.
